Creative Solutions is a non-profit organisation founded on the passion to care for the Planet Earth and its people, established to creatively provide linked solutions that tackle both environmental issues and poverty.

We preserve the environment through organising, educating and empowering rural communities to reforest, build resilience, create alternative livelihoods and reduce poverty as we transition to a more eco-friendly and sustainable way of life.

Sustainable Agriculture (SA) Project (Balaka and Neno)

CSE introduced sustainable agriculture as an approach to strengthening community resilience to climate change by creating alternative livelihoods that promote change of lifestyle and economically empower communities. Sustainable agriculture is not only a solution to climate change but it is also a successful management of resources for agriculture to satisfy changing human needs.

The Women’s Market  Centre Project

CSE is constructing a community market Center at Tchenga in Chikapa village, Neno (along M1 Road) to empower communities with sustainable income generating activities. The market will serve as an outlet for organic produce from communities of Balaka and Neno. The market shade shall accommodate 70 people inside and dozens more outside. CSE introduced sustainable

A girl and a bike project

A girl and a bike project

Creative Solutions for the Environment under the project named “A Girl and a Bike” partnered with New Community Project (USA based organisation) in providing scholarships to over 80 secondary school girls. This project aims at enabling underprivileged girls to access secondary school education which costs $110 per girl/year.

Utale Community Day Secondary School Girls hostel, in Balaka, was built over a decade ago. The contractor refuses to hand over the hostel unless government settles his balance. The school currently has 189 girls and almost all of them are self-boarding. The hostel, that is now dilapidating, has capacity to accommodate 224 girls. CSE committed

Reforestation

CSE is working on reforestation and restoring forests with communities of Balaka and Neno districts. Balaka and Neno are districts in Malawi highly impacted by climate change and at a high risk of food and nutrition insecurity. The Reforestation project aims to restore and rehabilitate forests, help the communities (organized in clubs) mitigate the impacts
